Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Note: The removal procedure is similar for both air driven prelubrication oil pumps and electrically driven prelubrication oil pumps.
- Drain the engine oil from the engine oil pan into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change".
- Disconnect tube assembly (1) from the air driven prelube pump.

- Disconnect harness assembly (6) from the electrically driven prelube pump.
- Disconnect tube assembly (2) from check valve (3) .
- Remove tube (4) and the elbows.
- Remove prelubrication oil pump (5) from the bracket on the engine oil pan.
- Remove the bolts and check valve (3) from prelubrication oil pump (5) .
