58.5 ± 6.5 N·m (43.1 ± 4.8 lb ft).    
4     1     390-4797 Slip Joint     The spline should be lubricated when the machine is fully articulated.    

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the power train guard.

  1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

  1. Support rear drive shaft (2). Remove bolts (3) and straps (4) from each end of rear drive shaft (2) .

  1. Slide yoke (1) toward the rear axle assembly. Slide yoke (1) so that enough clearance is provided for the removal of rear drive shaft (2) .

  1. Carefully remove rear drive shaft (2) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install rear drive shaft (2) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 150 ± 15 N·m (110 ± 11 lb ft)
