120 ± 20 N·m (89 ± 15 lb ft).

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Connect the steering frame lock.
  2. Remove the parking brake.

  1. Use a suitable lifting device to support the front drive shaft. The weight of the front drive shaft is approximately 18 kg (40 lb).

  1. Remove lock ring (1) and setscrew (2) .

  1. Remove bolts (3) and spacers (4) .

  1. Remove carrier bearing (5) .

  1. Apply Tooling (A) to the journal of the front drive shaft and to the bore of carrier bearing (5) .

  1. Install carrier bearing (5) over the drive shaft.

  1. Install spacers (4) and bolts (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 240 ± 40 N·m (177 ± 30 lb ft).

  1. Apply Tooling (B) to the setscrew and the threads of the jam nut. Install the setscrew and jam nut (2) to the carrier bearing housing (6). Install the setscrew to the bottom of the keyway. Turn the setscrew counterclockwise for one half of a turn. Keep the setscrew in the current position. Tighten the jam nut to a torque of 24 ± 4 N·m (18 ± 3 lb ft).

  1. Install lock ring (1) .

End By:

  1. Install the parking brake.
  2. Separate the steering frame lock.
