Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the electric starting motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install".

1. Remove top bolt (1).

2. Install Tooling (A). Remove remaining bolts (1). Remove spacer plate (2), flex plate (4), and hub (3) from the flywheel housing.

3. Remove flywheel (5) from the dowel in the crankshaft and Tooling (A).

4. Replace the flywheel ring gear , if necessary. Use a hammer and a punch in order to remove the flywheel ring gear.
