New Air Pipe Retainers Used To Connect Turbocharger To Aftercooler{1052,1063}

Usage:

D7G, 615 Tractors;
637D, 637D P-P, 637D SA, 637D P-P SA, 639D Scrapers

Description of Change: New retainers are used to secure the air tube between the turbocharger and the aftercooler in the above models. See the illustration. The retainers have a yoke design which provides better retention of the air tube. Formerly, flat washers were used to secure this tube. It was possible for the washers to vibrate loose, causing loose connections at the turbocharger and aftercooler joints. This resulted in a loss of manifold boost pressure and possible leakage of unfiltered air into the air intake system.

Adaptable As: The new retainers and new bolt are direct replacements for the former washers and bolts as shown in the following chart.

Location of 7W1944 and 7W1945 Retainers and L1351 Bolt.
