Remanufactured 1160 Engines Now Use Sleeve Metering Fuel Systems {1250,1286}

Usage:

1160 Truck Engines ( 57V)

Description of Change: Remanufactured 1160 Truck Engines now use the sleeve metering fuel system (SMFS). The remanufactured 1160 Truck Engine has been updated to use the SMFS instead of the former scroll-type fuel system. Other changes in this engine arrangement include different: automatic timing advance, fuel filter, fuel lines, fuel nozzles and an engine mounted fuel/water separator. All other engine components remain the same. For fuel setting information on SMFS components, see the information plate on the engine valve cover. For parts service of the SMFS components used on the remanufactured 1160 Truck Engine, use the reference information for 3208 Engines (40S1).

Adaptable To: The new 0R1108 Truck Engine Arrangement (remanufactured) is a direct replacement for the former 0R760 Truck Engine Arrangement. However, it will be necessary to adapt the truck throttle control linkage to the new SMFS governor control shaft. Special Instruction Form SEHS8525, included with each new 0R1108 Engine Arrangement, gives the information to adapt the throttle control linkage.
