--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: A lubricator group is now available for use with air prelube pumps. The lubricator group is part of the air lines groups, which are attachments. The lubricator group mounts on the air prelube pump and will help prevent corrosion in the pump.
Formerly, when the air prelube pump was not used for extended periods, the internal components could corrode and stick. This was caused by moisture in the air and not enough lubrication in the pump. The air prelube pump does not have enough suction to pull oil from the large lubricator in the starting air lines group and send it to the air prelube pump.
Adaptable As: The 7W522 Lubricator Group is adaptable to all 3512 and 3516 Engines equipped with an air prelube pump.
If a lubricator is not used with an air prelube pump, the air supply line at the pump can be disconnected and engine oil can be sprayed into the pump before and after extended periods of not being used. This will help prevent corrosion.
