Air Inlet Heater - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    Note: Use a wrench to hold the bolt head when you loosen the nut for the harness assembly on the air inlet heater. Hold the bolt head in position in order to prevent pressure on the heater element.

  1. Loosen nuts (1) while you hold bolts (3) with a wrench.

  1. Slide the slotted ends of air inlet heater (2) from bolts (3) .

  1. Remove air inlet heater (2) .

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

  1. Position air inlet heater (2) in the aftercooler.

  1. Slide the slotted ends of air inlet heater (2) between bolts (3) and the aftercooler.

    Note: Use a wrench to hold the bolt head when you tighten the nut for the harness assembly on the air inlet heater. Hold the bolt head in position in order to prevent pressure on the heater element.

  1. Tighten nuts (1) while you hold bolts (3) with a wrench.

End By: Install the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Install".
