Assembly Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Inspect the condition of the O-ring seals. Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary. The contact surfaces of the O-ring seals must be clean and dry.
- Install O-ring seal (5) on plug (2). Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seal (5) and valve (3) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment. |

- Install valve (3) and spring (4) in engine oil filter base (1) .
- Install plug (2) in engine oil filter base (1) .
End By: Install the engine oil filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Base - Install".
