Description of Change: The potential exists for interference between the fuel supply tubes and the support brackets of the air tube assembly on 3500B Engines that have four turbochargers. The fuel supply tubes may also interfere with cylinder number 1 or with cylinder number 3 on all 3500B Engines that utilize cartridge type fuel filters.

To provide better protection against wear from friction, the existing fuel supply tubes can be rerouted. The fuel supply tubes can be carefully bent in order to provide clearance. However, if a fuel line is damaged by any of the following methods, the fuel line must be replaced: crimping, pinching and separation from the connectors.

New fuel lines are available for the following engines: 3508B, 3512B and 3516B. The new fuel lines will alleviate any interference between the fuel lines and other engine components.

Adaptable To: The new fuel lines are a direct replacement for the previous fuel lines. Table 1 lists the new part numbers that replace the former part numbers for 3508B and for 3512B Engines. Table 2 lists the new part numbers that replace the former part numbers for 3516B Engines.

Note: If any one of the former part numbers is replaced by a new part number, all of the other corresponding former part numbers must be replaced. For example, if you install the 237-2713 Tube As on a 3508B Engine with Right Hand Service, you must also install the 237-2712 Tube As, the 237-2714 Tube As, and the 237-2715 Tube As .Table 3 lists the serial number effectivity for first production of the fuel supply tubes in 3500B Engines.
