Identifying the Prelube Circuit and the Air Start Circuit {1408}

Usage:

G3606B 4ZS
Engine:
G3606 (S/N: 4ZS1-UP)
G3608 (S/N: BEN1-UP)
G3612 (S/N: BKE1-UP)
G3616 (S/N: BLB1-UP)

Do not connect the harness connector for the prelube solenoid to the air start solenoid. Identify the correct harness connectors.

The two circuit connections break out of the main harness at the same point and the two circuits terminate with identical MS connectors. The difference between the two circuits is the length of the wiring. The wiring for the prelube circuit is 30 mm (1.2 inches) longer than the wiring for the air start circuit.

Perform the following procedure in order to verify the harness connectors:

  1. Turn the engine control switch to the OFF/RESET position.

  1. Disconnect the harness connectors for the air start solenoid and for the prelube solenoid.

  1. Connect the leads of a voltmeter to the A and B terminals of one of the connectors.

  1. Set the engine control switch to the STOP position.

  1. Depress the button for the manual prelube.

  1. The voltmeter will read approximately +24 VDC when the voltmeter is connected to the harness connector for the prelube solenoid.
