Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Loosen clamp (4). Remove bolts (2). Remove the tube and hose (3), and remove gasket (1) .

  1. Remove bolts (7). Remove valve mechanism cover (6) and gasket (5) .

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install gasket (5) and position valve mechanism cover (6). Install bolts (7) and tighten to a torque of 10 to 13 N·m (90 to 115 lb in).

  1. Install gasket (1) and position the tube and hose (3). Install bolts (2) and tighten clamp (4) .
