Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The flash file is for a different engine family, a different engine, or a different application. The diagnostic code 253-02 is active.
An attempt is made in order to reset the interlock code with an old version of the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).
System Response:
The code is not logged. The diagnostic code 253-02 will always be active when this diagnostic code is active and fuel injection will be disabled.

- Verify that the diagnostic codes 253-02 and 799-12 are active.
Results:
- OK - The diagnostic codes 253-02 and 799-12 are active.
Repair: In order to reset the ECM interlock on the new flash file, the version of Cat ET on the service tool must be updated. Replace your present version of the Cat ET with an updated version.
