High Efficiency Orifice (HEO) Fuel Injectors Are Now Used For Service Repairs {1290}

Usage:

3116 1SK
Marine Engines:
3116 (S/N: 4KG; 1SK)
3126 (S/N: 8NM; 6SR)

Description of Change: High Efficiency Orifice (HEO) fuel injectors are now used for service repairs on these marine engines. The HEO fuel injectors will produce lower amounts of exhaust soot than the fuel injectors that have been used on these marine engines in production and service repairs.

Adaptable To: The HEO fuel injectors should be used for service repairs on the marine engines that are listed above. Remanufactured fuel injectors are also available for the HEO fuel injectors.

Refer to the following table in order to determine the correct part numbers of the fuel injectors for your marine engine.

Table 1
Engine     Rating     Part number of the HEO Fuel Injector     Part number of the Former Fuel Injector     Part number of the Remanufactured HEO Fuel Injector
3116     224 kW (300 hp)     -     127-8228 (1)     0R-8465 (1)
3116
242 kW (325 hp)
162-0212     127-8230 (2)     0R-8463
3116
261 kW (350 hp)
162-0212     127-8230 (2)     0R-8463
3126
287 kW (385 hp)
162-0212     127-8230 (2)     0R-8463
3126
313 kW (420 hp)
162-0218     135-2581 (2)     0R-8633
( 1 ) This part is still available. This part should normally be used to service the 224 kW (300 hp) 3116 Marine Engines. The 162-0212 Fuel Injector or 0R-8463 Fuel Injector (Remanufactured) may be used if reduced levels of smoke are desired.
( 2 ) This part has been cancelled.
The injectors do not need to be replaced in sets. If only one fuel injector must be replaced, only replace that one fuel injector. The former fuel injectors may be used with the new fuel injectors in the same marine engine.
