SUBJECT: Conversion of the Standard Oil Pan and Dipstick Gp to a large capacity oil pan kit on 3054 (5HK,7BJ,9RM) machine engines installed in 312B and 315B Track-Type Excavators.

PROBLEM:

Complaints of frequent engine oil change intervals on 3054 engines installed in 312B and 315B Track-Type Excavators.

SOLUTION:

The larger engine oil pan and dipstick group will reduce frequent engine oil change intervals. The new larger oil pan holds 12 Liters of engine oil compared to 8 Liters in the current oil pan. The increase in engine oil capacity will also help maintain engine oil quality between the extended service intervals.
