SUBJECT: IMPROVED HOSES PREVENT OIL LEAKS AT THE HYDRAULIC OIL
COOLER ON CERTAIN EXCAVATORS

PROBLEM:

Oil leaks may occur from the hoses that join the hydraulic oil cooler and the return and filter lines at the hydraulic oil cooler.

SOLUTION:

If the hoses that join the hydraulic oil cooler and the return and filter lines leak, replace the hoses. Use the procedure that follows for replacement of the hoses.

The length of the new hoses is increased. A new support correctly positions the oil cooler pipe after the installation of the longer hoses. Additional hose clamps are also added to the new hose in order to prevent oil leaks. The effectivity of the improved hoses is listed in Table 1.
