SUBJECT: FAILURE OF THE 169-5725 QUICK COUPLER GP ON 302.5 MINI HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORS FITTED WITH HAMMERS

PROBLEM:

Reports have been received of failures of the 169-5725 Quick Coupler Gp on 302.5 Mini Hydraulic Excavators that were fitted with hammers. The failures include fractures and cracking to the body and arms of the quick coupler, as shown in Figure 1.

SOLUTION:

The 169-5725 Quick Coupler Gp is not approved for hammer applications. Hammers that are to be fitted to 302.5 Mini Hydraulic Excavators must be fitted as "PIN ON" attachments only.
