Retaining Bolt For The Boom Foot Pin May Loosen Caterpillar

Retaining Bolt For The Boom Foot Pin May Loosen

Usage:

EXCAVATORS345B L (4SS738-1442, 9GS219-285) EXCAVATORS

Problem:

The bolt that retains the boom foot pin assembly in the upper frame assembly may be subject to coming loose on some of the listed Excavators. The result is the pin assembly that attaches the boom foot to the upper frame may become disengaged.

Solution:

If the 7X-2572 Bolt becomes loose, replace the bolt with a 7X-2574 Bolt and one additional 8T-4167 Hard Washer. Sequence the 8T-4167 Hard Washer, the 4I-3183 Washer, and the additional 8T-4167 Hard Washer and assemble on the new bolt. Install the new bolt and washer assembly to the upper frame boss. The recommended replacement components provide increased clearance in order to prevent the retaining bolt from becoming loose.
