Start By:

  1. Remove the clean emissions module.

  2. Remove the air cleaner.

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  3. Disconnect cable assembly (1).

  4. Disconnect ground strap (2) and hose assembly (3).

  5. Disconnect harness assemblies (4).

  6. Remove bolts (6) and reposition monitor assembly (5) out of the way.

  7. Remove bolts (7) and hood (8).

  8. Loosen clamp (9) and remove tube assembly (10).

  9. Remove bolts (11).

  10. Loosen clamp (12).

  11. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to compartment assembly (13). The weight of compartment assembly (13) is approximately 154 kg (340 lb).

  12. Remove bolts (14) and (15). Remove compartment assembly (13).

  13. Loosen clamp (16).

  14. Repeat Steps 11 through 12 to remove the other compartment assembly.

  15. Loosen clamps (18) and (20). Remove tube assemblies (17) and (19).

  17. Remove hose assemblies (22).

  18. Remove bolt (23) and reposition hose assemblies (22) out of the way.

  19. Remove bolts (24).

  20. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to engine (25). The weight of engine (25) is approximately 1041 kg (2295 lb).

  21. Remove bolts (26) and (27). Remove engine (25).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine (25) in the reverse order of removal.
