3500B Engines That Are Used On EPG Applications And Have An Emergency Stop Box Are Wired Incorrectly

Usage:

ENGINES3508B (2HW, 4GM, 6PN) 3512B (5AW, 6WN, 8RM) 3516B (1NW, 2JW, 6HN, 7RN) ENGINES

Problem:

The Emergency Stop Button that is included in the engine mounted Emergency Stop Box (part number 145-2911 Control Panel Box Gp) is wired incorrectly. The incorrect wiring, as shipped from the factory, is as follows:

*Wire 101 is wired to the Emergency Stop Push Button (normally open contact terminal 3)
*Wire 35 is wired to the Emergency Stop Push Button (normally closed contact terminal 2)
*Wire 102 is wired to the Emergency Stop Push Button (normally closed contact terminal 1)

The symptom of this problem is the inability to start the package. This symptom occurs when a remote-mounted EMCPII is shipped loose, along with the package, to the point of use. EMCPII-based switchgear and wall-mounted EMCPII's also experience this problem. This problem occurs only on 3500B packages when the ADEM controller is utilized. Package-mounted EMCPII's do not experience this problem.

Solution:

The correct wiring is as follows:

*Wire 102 is wired to Emergency Stop Push Button (normally open contact terminal 3)
*Wire 101 is wired to the Emergency Stop Push Button (normally closed contact terminal 2)
*Wire 35 is wired to the Emergency Stop Push Button (normally closed contact terminal 1)
