A Starting Problem May Be A Result Of A Fuel Tank And Base Group Problem

Usage:

ENGINES3412C (9EP174-859, BCW125-299) GENERATOR SETS

Problem:

Some of the above generator sets may experience starting problems because of low fuel pressure. The low fuel pressure may be the result of a missing fuel pick up tube and/or a missing fuel return tube in the fuel tank and base group. It is also possible that an incorrect material was used for the fuel pick up tube and/or the fuel return tube. The incorrect material could result in a rusty tube.

Solution:

Inspect the 3412C Generator Sets in the above serial number ranges that are equipped with one of the following Fuel Tank And Base Groups: 169-2086, 169-2087, 170-8406, 170-8408, 171-4495, 171-4499, 173-6526, 180-3496, 180-3497, 180-3498, 180-3499, 180-3501, 180-3502, 183-2064, 183-2065, 183-2066, 197-8089, 197-8090, 197-8091, 197-9092, 197-8093, 197-8094, 197-8095, 197-8097, 197-8098.

If the fuel pick up tube and/or the fuel return tube are missing or rusty, contact EPG Service at telephone number (309) 578-6795 to coordinate the delivery of replacement parts to make the nescessary repairs.
