1495-2 Diagnostic Codes May Become Active After Flashing The Latest 3500B Software

Usage:

ENGINESALL 3500B COMMERCIAL ENGINES

Problem:

The 1495-2 "Injector Trim Code Not Programmed" diagnostic code is new to the latest software. Cat ET does not yet recognize this code so this code is displayed as "Unknown Code. Refer to Troubleshooting Guide". Since this feature was added after the last service manual revisions, this code does not appear in the service manuals. This code is active if the injector trim codes have never been programmed into the Cat ET calibration screen.

Solution:

Program the injector trim codes. Many engines were built before trim codes were used on the injectors. The injector trim codes in Cat ET should be programmed to "1100" if the injectors do not have trim codes. If the trim codes are already present in Cat ET, reprogram the trim codes to the same value. The 1495-2 diagnostic code should disappear after the programming is complete. This procedure should only have to be performed once.
