Engine Oil Cooler
Usage:
ENGINES3208 (75V, 01Z) MARINE ENGINES
Problem:
There have been reports of oil leaking around the studs that hold the oil cooler to the base.
Solution:
Three studs (1), three nuts (2), and three washers (3) are used to fasten the oil cooler (5) to the base (4). See the illustration. Use the procedure that follows on one of the studs at a time.
- 1. Remove one nut (2) and washer (3) from one of the studs (1).
- 2. Thoroughly, clean any oil and dirt from the area around the stud.
- 3. Apply 4C-9614 RTV Sealant (Red) to the threads of the stud (1).
- 5. Tighten the nut (2) to a torque of 22 ± 3 N·m (16 ± 2 lb ft).
- 6. Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for each of the remaining studs (1).
