Software Update Caterpillar

Software Update

Usage:

ENGINES3126B (9ZF1-279, 3GS1-638) MARINE ENGINES

Problem:

The software that is installed on these engines may allow the following problems:

*There is a potential of low idle stalling.
*The Low Oil Pressure Warning is set too high.
*The Air Inlet Warning and Derate Temperature is to low.
*The ET Load Factor is not reading correctly.
*The optional Fuel Pressure is read in absolute.

Solution:

The newest software for these engines is available in SISWEB. The 208-9494 Software Group is available for 450 horsepower engines. The 208-9493 Software Group is available for 420 horsepower engines. The software includes the following changes:

*Update of maps to fix the low idle instability issue.
*Changed the 400 rpm Oil Pressure Warning to 0 kPa from 25 kPa.
*Changed the Inlet Air Temperature Warning is changed to 70°C, and the Derate to 80 °C. (The de-rate is an option that can be turned OFF through ET.
*The Load Factor is corrected for discrepancies between ET and MPD.
*The former Fuel Pressure parameter has been renamed to Fuel Press (absolute) on ET.
*The optional Fuel Pressure is now sent to ET and is now actual and is named Fuel Pressure. If a repair is performed, the dealer should use the following numbers when reporting the repair:
*Use the Flash File Number as the part that caused the failure.
*Use the SMCS Code 7939 (Personality Module - Engine Shipped With Wrong Software) as the group number.
