Usage:
Problem:
The outside diameter of the wire terminal ends that are connected to the Air Inlet Heater and to the Air Inlet Heater Relay may be too large. This may allow the wire terminal ends to contact each other when they are installed on the Air Inlet Heater Relay. The terminal ends may wear threw the rubber boots on Air Inlet Heater. This may allow the wire terminal ends to contact the cylinder head.
Solution:
The wire terminal ends that are being used in production have been changed so that the outside diameter of the terminal ends is 12.7 mm (.5 in).
The outside diameter of the existing wire terminal ends (X) can be reduced to 12.7 mm (.5 in). See the illustration. Carefully trim off excess material. Be sure there are no burrs or sharp points on the reworked terminals.
The wire terminal ends that are too large can be replaces with new terminals with the correct outside diameter. The 178-2513 Terminal and 4 cm (1.57 in) of 9X-2506 Heat Shrink Tubing can be installed on the ends of the 4 gauge wires assemblies. The 152-5532 Terminal can be installed on the ends of the 6 gauge wire assembies. The 152-5532 Terminal has heat shrink tubing already attached.
(X) = Terminal Ends that should be modified or replaced.
