Loose Drive Gear On Unit Injector Hydraulic Pump Group
Usage:
ENGINES3116 (8WL),
3126 (1WM),
3126B (7AS) TRUCK ENGINES
3126 (1WM),
3126B (7AS) TRUCK ENGINES
Problem:
The engine will not start. The injection actuation pressure and the fuel pressure are zero. Removal of the unit injector hydraulic pump group reveals a loose drive gear on the unit injector hydraulic pump group.
Solution:
If a loose drive gear is found when the unit injector hydraulic pump group is removed, do NOT tighten the bolt that fastens the drive gear on the pump group. Do NOT reuse the unit injector hydraulic pump group. It is recommended that the engine oil filter be changed and the unit injector hydraulic pump group be replaced if a loose unit injector hydraulic pump group drive gear is found.
