Description of Change: New hosing for the radiator header tank is now used. The new hosing improves water pump performance.
Adaptable To: The new radiator header tank hosing is adaptable to R1700G (S/N: SBR1-646).
The new radiator header tank hosing is effective in production with R1700G (S/N: SBR647-UP).
Refer to the following procedure in order to install the new radiator header tank hosing.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Procedure to install the Radiator Header Tank Hosing
- Move the machine to a hard level surface that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.
- Engage the parking brake. Place wheel blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
- Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
- Stop the engine.
- Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" or Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
- Remove and discard tube (1), hose (2) and elbow (3). Retain two 9M-7958 Hose Clamps (4) .

- Install 5P-9436 Threaded O-Ring Plug (5) and 6V-5063 O-Ring Seal (6) .

- Remove and discard plug (7) .

- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" or Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
- Test the cooling system for leaks. Refer to Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting, "Cooling System - Test".
- Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
