Description of Change: Thread lock compound is now applied to each bolt before assembly. The thread lock compound will prevent the bolts from loosening. This will prevent damage to the machine.
Adaptable To: The 155-0695 Thread Lock Compound is now used on the 12 146-5131 Bolts and the six 274-4642 Bolts that are part of the 120-4408 Rear Axle Mounting Gp. The thread lock compound can be used on machines back to the beginning of production of the machines. The thread lock compound became effective in production with the machine B9K267-UP.
Use the following procedure in order to update machines B9K1-266.

- For additional information, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1437, "24H Motor Grader Power Train", "Rear Axle Housing".
- Remove each bolt and each washer individually. Remove one of the six bolts and washers (6) that are toward the front of the machine. Discard the bolt and the washer.

Note: In order to prevent damage to the rear axle, you must first replace the six bolts that are toward the front of the rear axle. Replace the 12 bolts that are on the top of the rear axle after all six of the bolts that are toward the front of the rear axle have been replaced and all six of the bolts that are toward the front of the rear axle have been torqued.
- Install one washer (4) to one bolt (3). Apply the thread lock compound (1) to bolt (3) .
- Install the bolt (3) to the machine. Torque the bolt to 2000 ± 250 N·m (1475 ± 185 lb ft).
- Repeat this procedure for the five remaining bolts and washers (6) .
- Remove one of the 12 bolts and washers (5) that are toward the top of the rear axle. Discard the bolt and the washer.
- Install one washer (4) to one bolt (2). Apply the thread lock compound (1) to bolt (4) .
- Install the bolt (4) to the machine. Torque the bolt to 2000 ± 250 N·m (1475 ± 185 lb ft).
- Repeat this procedure for the 11 remaining bolts and washers (5) .
