NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Drain the coolant from the auxiliary system. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.

  2. Remove the bolts and remove the tube assembly from elbow (4).

  3. Remove the tube assembly from elbow (1).

  4. Remove one oil filter (3) with Tooling (B).

  5. Disconnect tube assembly (5) and hose assembly (6).

  6. Remove bolts (2) and elbow (1).

  7. Remove bolts (7), elbow (4), and the gasket.

  8. Remove clips (10), if necessary.

    Note: The auxiliary water pump must be removed with the accessory drive shaft and the accessory drive gear.

  9. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to auxiliary water pump (9). The weight of auxiliary water pump (9), the accessory drive shaft, and the accessory drive gear is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

  10. Remove bolts (8) and remove auxiliary water pump (9).

  11. Remove bolts (11) and accessory drive gear (12) from accessory drive shaft (13).

  12. Remove bolts (14) and thrust washers (15) that secure accessory drive shaft (13) to auxiliary water pump (9).
