Solution To Cab Window Fogging {1818,7309,7310,7320}

Usage:

914G (7ZM, 9WM) Wheel Loaders IT14G (1WN, 8ZM) Integrated Toolcarriers

Reference: Operation & Maintenance Manuals SEBU6868 and SEBU6869, (page 94), "Cab Air System".

On numerous occasions there were two main reasons for the 914G Wheel Loaders and IT14G Integrated Toolcarriers cab windows fogging.

1. A/C condensate drain valves (two rubber tubes hanging from under the front of the cab) have become clogged causing the condensate water to accumulate in the lower ductwork of the cab. This is especially important in the "G" series since an accumulation of water in the heater/evaporator box will cause the fan motors to be covered with water.
2. The fresh air path has become blocked forcing the use of all recirculated air in the cab. This condition of all recirculated air will cause fogging.

Addition of a new operator maintenance check every fifty service hours, or weekly, will eliminate these two possibilities. Check the condensate drains by removing and checking for presence of water. Check the fresh air filter and housing to make sure they are not blocked. This maintenance check is adaptable to all first production machines listed above.
