TH62, TH63, TH82, TH83 and TH103 Telehandlers Engine Supplement Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the dust guard. Refer to Machine Systems, Disassembly and Assembly, RENR3437, "Dust Guard - Remove and Install".

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.

1. Remove two bolts (2).

2. Loosen clamp bolts (3) and remove muffler (1) .

3. Remove three nuts (4) and three washers (5) in order to disconnect exhaust pipe (6) from the exhaust manifold. Rotate exhaust pipe (6) and remove the exhaust pipe from the underside of the machine.

4. Remove gasket (7) .

Installation Procedure

1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install a new gasket (7) .

3. Install exhaust pipe (6) from the underside of the machine. Rotate the exhaust pipe into position onto the exhaust manifold. Install three washers (5) and three nuts (4) .

4. Slide the exhaust muffler (1) into position onto the clamp and tighten clamp bolts (3) .

5. Install two bolts (2) and secure muffler (1) .

End By: Install the dust guard. Refer to Machine Systems, Disassembly and AssemblyRENR3437, "Dust Guard - Remove and Install".
