Usage:

216 4NZ
Skid Steer Loader:
216 (PIN: 4NZ161, 162, 164-166, 169-191, 194-197, 199-263, 265-271, 274-282, 284-288, 290, 294, 316, 330 and 339)
226 (PIN: 5FZ264-266, 268-271, 273-276, 278-285, 288-290, 294-416, 418-438, 443-464, 466, 468, 473, 476, 477-481, 497, 498, 500, 502, 503, 513, 541-544, 578, 616, 618 and 619)

The seat switch may become disconnected when the suspension seat is moved fully forward. If the wire for the seat switch is under tension, the wire can be pulled off of the switch terminals.

The following indications are evidence that the seat switch has been disconnected:

  • When the machine is OFF, the machine will not start and the indicator lamp for the seat belt will flash.

  • When the machine is running, the indicator lamp for the seat belt will flash and the indicator lamp for the parking brake will light. The parking brake will not release.

The 142-9304 Suspension Seat

(1) 154-3986 Switch

(2) 154-3985 Wire

In order to prevent the seat switch from being disconnected, perform the following procedure:

  1. Locate the 154-3986 Switch (1) and the 154-3985 Wire (2) that are under the right front of the suspension seat. The switch and the wire are part of the 142-9304 Suspension Seat. See Illustration 1.

  1. Inspect the routing of the 154-3985 Wire (2) in order to ensure that the wire is not under tension when the suspension seat is fully forward.

    (3) Tie-wrap

  1. If wire (2) appears to be under tension, perform the following steps in order to secure the wire to the seat mounting rail:

    1. Mark wire (2) at 102 mm (4.0 inch) from the 154-3986 Switch (1) .

    1. Mark the seat mounting rail at 76 mm (3.0 inch) behind switch (2) .

    1. Position wire (2) in order to align the mark on wire (2) and the mark on the seat mounting rail. Install a wire tie-wrap (3) at this point.

Note: There should be 25 mm (1.0 inch) of slack in wire (2) between the wire tie-wrap (3) and switch (1) .
