(2) Traction control potentiometer. |
The traction control system can be used in the automatic mode or the manual mode. Press the bottom of traction control switch (1) in order to set the traction control system in the manual mode. Press the top of traction control switch (1) in order to set the traction control system in the automatic mode.
Note: Traction control affects the oil flow to the front drive loop.
In the manual mode, traction control is achieved by traction control potentiometer (2). The traction control can be set from -100% to 100%. When traction control potentiometer (2) is set to 0%, the oil flow to the front travel motors is identical to the oil flow to the rear travel motors.
When traction control potentiometer (2) is set over 0%, more oil flows to the front travel motors. This causes the front travel motors to turn faster than the rear travel motors.
When traction control potentiometer (2) is set less than 0%, less oil flows to the front travel motors. This causes the rear travel motors to turn faster than the front travel motors.
Note: When the machine is roaded, set the traction control potentiometer to 2%.
Use the IQAN to view the setting of the traction control.
An electronic signal is sent from the IQAN to the proportional solenoids on the front power train pump. This signal controls the tilt angle of the swashplate that is in the pump. The angle of the swashplate controls the oil flow from the power train pump. The oil flows from the pump to the front travel motors.
In the automatic mode, traction control is controlled by the IQAN. IQAN monitors the pressure readings from the pressure sensors on the power train pumps.
The IQAN attempts to equalize the pressure in the two drive loops by changing the oil flow from the front power train pump. The current to the proportional solenoids of the front power train pump is varied until the pressures from the two pressure sensors match.
