  1. Park the machine on a flat surface.

  1. Apply the parking brake.

  1. Place the propel control lever in NEUTRAL.

  1. Place the vibratory mode selector switch in the MANUAL position.

  1. Place old tires under the drum. Old tires will absorb vibratory energy in order to prevent damage to the machine or damage to the floor.

  1. Block the rear tires in order to prevent machine movement.

  1. Attach the 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge to the main loop pressure port (1) .

Note: The 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge is a part of the 4C-4892 ORFS Fittings Group. Use the 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge for all pressure measurements on the main vibratory loop.

  1. Start the engine. Run the engine at high idle.

  1. Press the button on the propel lever in order to activate the vibratory system.

    (6) Operating pressure

  1. Record the POR valve relief pressure on the gauge.

The vibratory loop pressure chart illustrates the pressure in the vibratory loop.

When the vibratory system starts, the pump swashplate is shifted to the maximum stroke. At the POR valve relief pressure, the POR valve begins to open. When the POR valve opens, servo oil is ported to the tank. As servo oil pressure decreases, the pump stroke decreases in order to reduce the output pressure. The position (4) shows the POR valve relief pressure reading in the chart above. The pressure (4) was measured approximately four seconds after the system started. The POR valve relief pressure can be read between two and four seconds of vibratory system start.

Once the vibratory motor and eccentric weight have been accelerated to operating speed, the system is at operating pressure (6) .

When the system is deactivated, the pressure briefly rises to the pump main relief pressure (5) .

  1. The POR valve relief pressure should be 33000 ± 700 kPa (4786 ± 102 psi).

  1. If the POR valve relief pressure is not correct, adjust the POR valve (2). Use a wrench in order to loosen the locknut on the POR valve (2). Use an Allen wrench in order to adjust the POR valve relief pressure (4). Turn the adjusting screw clockwise in order to increase the POR valve relief pressure (4) .

  1. Stop the vibratory system. It will be necessary to restart the system in order to check the POR valve relief pressure. Verify the pressure setting after making any adjustments.

  1. Stop the vibratory system. Run the engine at low idle. Stop the engine.

  1. Disconnect the 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge from the main loop pressure port (1). Connect the 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge to the main loop pressure port (3) .

  1. Set the parking brake. Place the propel control lever in neutral.

  1. Start the engine. Run the engine at high idle.

  1. Place the vibratory mode selector switch in the automatic position.

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.

    ----------------------

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result if the machine moves while testing.

If the machine begins to move during test, reduce the engine speed immediately and engage the parking brake.

    ----------------------

  1. Slowly move the propel control lever into reverse until the vibratory system is activated. If the machine begins to move, place the propel control lever in neutral. If the machine begins to move, the brake interlock requires repair.

  1. Record the POR valve relief pressure from the gauge. Refer to illustration 3 and step 10.

  1. Tighten the locknut.

  1. Stop the vibratory system. It will be necessary to restart the system in order to check the POR valve relief pressure. Verify the pressure setting after making any adjustments.

  1. Stop the vibratory system. Run the engine at low idle. Stop the engine.
