(1) Bolts

Torque ... 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft)

(2) Idler shaft

Diameter of new idler shaft ... 119.814 ± 0.012 mm (4.7171 ± 0.0005 inch)

(3) Thrust washer

(4) Cage assembly

Bore in the bearing after assembly ... 63.539 ± 0.036 mm (2.5015 ± 0.0014 inch)

The dowel extends from the face of the cage assembly by the following distance. ... 3.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.138 ± 0.020 inch)

(5) Studs

1. Apply 4C-9502 Gasket Sealant to the nut end of the studs.

2. Tighten the studs to the following torque:

   Torque ... 110 ± 15 N·m (81 ± 11 lb ft)

(6) Thrust washer

1. Install thrust washer (6) in the flywheel housing with the small hole on the upper dowel.

   Diameter of small hole ... 4.587 ± 0.008 mm (0.1806 ± 0.0003 inch)

2. Lightly tap the thrust washer until the thrust washer is completely seated in the flywheel housing.

(7) Thrust washer

1. Install thrust washer (7) on the cage assembly with the small hole on the upper dowel.

   Diameter of small hole ... 4.587 ± 0.008 mm (0.1806 ± 0.0003 inch)

2. Lightly tap the thrust washer until the thrust washer is flush on cage assembly (4).

(8) Idler gear

Bore in the bearing after assembly ... 137.872 ± 0.063 mm (5.4280 ± 0.0025 inch)

(9) Cluster gear

Bore in the bearing after assembly ... 120.009 ± 0.063 mm (4.7248 ± 0.0025 inch)

(10) Shaft

Diameter of new shaft ... 63.43 ± 0.01 mm (2.4972 ± 0.0004 inch)

(11) Bolts

Torque ... 280 ± 40 N·m (207 ± 30 lb ft)

(12) Idler shaft

Diameter of new idler shaft ... 137.657 ± 0.012 mm (5.4196 ± 0.0005 inch)

(13) Bolts

Tighten the bolts for the idler shaft to the following torque:

Torque for 1/2 inch bolt ... 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft)

Torque for 5/8 inch bolt ... 270 ± 40 N·m (200 ± 30 lb ft)

(14) Adapter assembly

Bore in the bearing after assembly ... 63.539 ± 0.036 mm (2.5015 ± 0.0014 inch)

(15) Studs

Torque ... 65 ± 10 N·m (48 ± 7 lb ft)

(16) Locknut

Torque ... 875 ± 50 N·m (645 ± 35 lb ft)

Note: The mating surfaces for the locknut must be free of grease.
