24H Motor Grader Braking System Caterpillar

Towing

Usage:

24H 7KK
The machine is equipped with spring applied brakes that are released by hydraulic pressure. If the engine or power train hydraulics are inoperable, the brakes are applied and the machine cannot be moved.

A machine that cannot be operated can be towed or moved by activating the electric powered supplemental brake retract pump.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Towing Information" for your machine for more towing instructions.

Manual Release of the Parking Brake for Towing

  1. Block the wheels of the machine in order to prevent movement before releasing the brakes. The machine can roll if the machine is not blocked.
