Location of the Service Brake Pressure Switch

The service brake pressure switch is located next to the pressure tap on the accumulator charging valve.

The service brake pressure switch is normally open when the oil pressure in the service brake system is below the deactuation pressure of the pressure switch. Refer to Specifications, "Pressure Switch (Service Brake)" for the deactuation pressure of the pressure switch. When the switch contacts open, the low brake pressure indicator is turned on.

When the service brake pressure becomes greater than the actuation pressure of the pressure switch, the contacts on the pressure switch close. Refer to Specifications, "Pressure Switch (Service Brake)" for the actuation pressure of the pressure switch. When the switch contacts close, the low brake pressure indicator turns off.

Location of the Alert Indicator
(1) Low brake pressure indicator for the service brake
(2) Master action light

When the switch contacts open, low brake pressure indicator (1) and master action light (2) flash. The action alarm will also sound. This indicates the loss of oil pressure to the service brakes.
