Personal injury can result from driveline torque windup under load. Unequal wheel speed can result in driveline torque windup which can cause driveline components to be under load during disassembly. Relieve the driveline torque windup before disassembly. |
Note: Use hydraulic jack (A) in order to raise the front axle until the wheels clear the ground. This will release the driveline torque windup in the front axle.
- Remove four bolts (1) at the rear of universal joint (2) .

- Remove four bolts (4) at the front of universal joint (3) .

- Remove the front drive shaft by sliding assembly (5) out of key slots (6) .
Installation Procedure
- Use hydraulic jack (A) in order to raise the front axle so that the wheel can be installed on the front drive axle.
- Slide assembly (5) into key slots (6) .
- Install four bolts (4) at the front of universal joint (3) in order to attach the front drive shaft to the transmission.
- Install four bolts (1) at the rear of universal joint (2) in order to attach the front drive shaft to the wheel.
- Be sure that all personnel are clear of the machine. Lower the machine to the ground.
