- Make sure that the rubber toric seals are clean and dry. Make sure that all metal surfaces that make contact with the rubber toric seals are clean and dry. Use Tooling (A) in order to install the Duo-Cone seal (1) in the retainer. Put a small amount of clean oil on the metal surfaces that make contact.

- Install brake disc (5) with twenty-four bolts and washers. Tighten the bolts to 115 ± 15 N·m (85 ± 11 lb ft) and turn the bolts by an additional two-thirds of a turn.
- Make sure that the rubber toric seals are clean and dry. Make sure that all metal surfaces that make contact with the rubber toric seals are clean and dry. Use Tooling (A) in order to install the Duo-Cone seal (6) in the retainer. Put a small amount of clean oil on the metal surfaces that make contact.

Note: The centerline of Tooling (D) must be through the centerline of the wheel.
- Thread a nut fully onto a stud and install Tooling (E) on the nut. The torque wrench must be in line with the center of the wheel. Rotate the wheel several times in order to seat the bearing rollers against the cone back face rib. Tooling (E) will be used in order to check the rolling torque of the wheel.
When you rotate the wheel, use Tooling (C) in order to tighten adjusting nut (11) to 600 N·m (440 lb ft). This will seat the bearings and this will keep the rollers parallel to each other at the same location on the cone. All wheel rotation must be in the same direction.
Loosen adjusting nut (11) to a zero reading on the torque wrench. Rotate the wheel for two or more revolutions. Do not loosen adjusting nut (11) too much. Measure the rolling torque due to the drag of the Duo-Cone seals with the torque wrench.
Note: See Specifications, SENR2907, "Adjustment of Wheel Bearings" in order to obtain the correct torque reading for using another torque wrench.
- Tighten adjusting nut (11) while rotating the wheel assembly until the rolling torque due to the bearing preload is 5.3 ± 2.0 N·m (47 ± 20 lb in). The rolling torque due to the bearing preload is the difference between the rolling torque that was measured here and the rolling torque due to the Duo-Cone seals that was measured in Step 13 .

- Install lock (12) on adjusting nut (11) . Invert the lock if it is necessary. Use the nearest locking position. Loosen adjusting nut (11) or tighten adjusting nut (11) in order to align the holes in the lock with the holes in the hub.
Check the rolling torque due to the bearing preload. The rolling torque should be 5.3 ± 3.5 N·m (47 ± 31 lb in) .
- Install the four bolts (13) and the washers that hold the lock.
End By:
- Install the final drive planet carriers and the ring gears. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive - Install" .
- Install the brake caliper assembly. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Service Brakes - Install" .
- Install the tire and rim. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Install" .
