IT14G Integrated Toolcarrier and 914G Wheel Loader Power Train Caterpillar

General Information

Usage:

IT14G 1WN
Both the 914G Wheel Loader and the IT14G Integrated Toolcarrier use a hydrostatic transmission. The machines have an electronic control module that varies the spool position of the motor signal control valve in order to control the displacement of the large variable displacement motor. The electronic control module measures the engine speed and the drive shaft speed. This data is used to vary the displacement of the large variable displacement motor.

The hydrostatic system for the machine consists of a variable displacement pump, two variable displacement motors, dual hydraulic oil filters, an overspeed valve, and an inching valve. The inching valve is connected to the master cylinder for (S/N: 9WM1-12981WN1-898). The inching valve is incorporated into the brake valve for (S/N: 9WM1299-UP1WN899-UP). An optional creeper control is also available.

The engine drives a variable displacement piston pump in order to provide hydraulic power for the drive motor. The drive motor is a variable displacement motor. The drive motor is mounted to the hydrostatic drive. The hydrostatic drive is fastened to the rear axle. A drive shaft connects the rear axle to the front axle.

The parking brake is fastened to the input shaft of the front axle. The parking brake is manually activated. Pull up the parking brake lever in order to engage the brake.

The service brakes are located in the front axle and the rear axle. The service brake is activated hydraulically by the service brake pedal. Push down the service brake pedal in order to engage the brake hydraulically. Partially depressing the service brake will provide inching movement with high engine speed.

(3) Creeper speed control.

Speed select switch (2) is used to select the SLOW speed mode or the FAST speed mode.

If the machine is equipped with a creeper speed control (3), there are two types. See Illustration 3 for machines with serial numbers of (S/N: 9WM1-19891WN1-1491). This creeper control lever can only be used in the slow mode. See Illustration 5. This creeper control lever has full range in slow mode and fast mode.

(4) Direction control switch on the hydraulic control

The direction control lever (1) beside the steering wheel is used to select the direction of the machine. The directional control switch (4) is also used to select the direction of the machine. The direction control lever (1) must remain in NEUTRAL in order for the directional control switch (4) to function. The accelerator pedal controls the speed of the machine.

The hydrostatic system shifts to the NEUTRAL position when the parking brake is engaged. Once the parking brake is released, the direction control lever (1) must be moved to the NEUTRAL position before a direction can be selected.

The service connector can be located in one of two locations.
