Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

Note: The front tilt lever and the front tilt link are located on the front of the lift arms.

Typical Example

1. Use a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to support tilt cylinder (1), as shown.

2. Remove bolt (2) and pin (3) .

3. Lower tilt cylinder (1) so that the cylinder rests on the lift arm, as shown.

4. Fasten a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to tilt lever (4) and to tilt links (5) .

Note: If necessary, remove the grease fitting. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove pin (7) .

5. Remove bolt (6) and pin (7) .

6. Remove bolt (8), washer (9), and plate (10) .

Note: If necessary, remove the grease fitting. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove pin (14) .

7. Remove bolt (11), washer (12), spacer (13), pin (14), and washer (15) .

8. Use a hoist to remove tilt lever (4) and tilt links (5) as a unit. The total weight of the tilt lever and of the tilt link is 110 kg (242 lb).

9. Remove bolt (16), washer (17), and plate (18) .

Note: If necessary, remove the grease fitting. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove pin (22) .

10. Remove bolt (19), washer (20), spacer (21), pin (22), and washer (23) .

11. Remove tilt links (5) from tilt lever (4) .

12. Remove lip seals (24), (25), and (26). Repeat for the opposite side of the tilt lever.

13. Use Tooling (B) to remove sleeve bearings (27), (28) and (29) .
