(6) "STEERING - LEFT" - Press this button in order to steer a wheel harvester to the left. This button is not used when the harvester head is mounted on an excavator.

(7) "STEERING - RIGHT" - Press this button in order to steer a wheel harvester to the right. This button is not used when the harvester head is mounted on an excavator.

(8) "PULP" - When this button is pressed, the log will be cut to a length of number "11" in the "Preselections Table".

(9) "STOP" - Press this button in order to stop the tree from feeding through the harvester head. This button can be held down while the "FEED FORWARD" or the "FEED REVERSE" is pressed in order to activate the crawl speed. The "STOP" button also has the same functionality as the "SHIFT" button. Button (9) can be programmed to "STOP" or to "PAUSE".

(10) "CUT" - The function of this button differs when the harvester head is in the VERTICAL position and the HORIZONTAL position.

VERTICAL Position

Manual Felling - For manual felling, briefly press the "CUT" button. Then press and hold the button. The saw will cut until the button is released. The saw will automatically release when the button is released.

Automatic Felling - For automatic felling, press and hold the "CUT" button. The saw will cut far enough in order to cut through the tree. Then, the saw stops and the saw returns.

HORIZONTAL Position

When the "CUT" button is pressed the saw operates in one of the following modes:

  • Manual cutting

  • Touch cutting

  • Automatic cutting

Either touch cutting or automatic cutting can be set in the "Programming Variables". Touch cutting or automatic cutting can be activated with the "SHIFT" button. When the tree reaches the cutting zone during processing, the tree will then be cut with the selected method.

Manual Cutting - When the DASA is set for manually cutting and the "S/" is on the display screen, press the button and hold the button in order to cut. When the button is released the saw bar will return.

Touch Cutting - When the DASA is set for touch cutting and the "S/" is not on the display screen, briefly press the button. The saw will cut through the tree according to the settings of the DASA and the saw will automatically return.

Automatic Cutting - When the DASA is set for automatic cutting and the "S/" is not on the display screen, the saw will automatically cut through the tree. The button does not need to be pressed. Then, the saw will automatically return. A delay time can be set at the "Prog Variables" screen. The delay time causes the harvester head to wait for a period of time before cutting.
