Do Not Wash Fuel Pump With Cold Water
Usage:
TELEHANDLERTH62 (3LN, 4TM) TH63 (3NN, 5WM) TH82 (3JN, 3KN) TH83 (3RN) TH103 (3PN) TELEHANDLERS
Problem:
A Stanadyne Rotary Fuel Injection Pump is used on the 3054 engines in the above listed machines. When the engine is at operating temperatures, the clearances within the rotary pump are very small. When the engine cowl is raised while the engine is in operation, the fuel injection pump is on the outside of the engine compartment. Washing a hot fuel injection pump with cold water while the engine is in operation may result in pump seizure.
Solution:
DO NOT WASH A HOT PUMP. Do not spray water into the engine compartment while the engine is operating, or while the engine is hot. This will lessen the chance for the fuel injection pump to seize.
