Special Care Necessary For Proper Alignment Of Brake Pumps During Pump Group Disassembly And Assembly

OFF-HIGHWAY TRUCKS793C (4AR) OFF-HIGHWAY TRUCKS
Problem:
Misalignment of the 124-9376 or 144-9519 Brake Pump to the 124-9390 Brake Pump may occur during assembly of 124-9377 or 144-9523 Pump Group in all 793C Off-Highway Trucks. Improper alignment of brake pumps may cause brake failure.
Solution:
The following precautions should be taken while servicing 124-9377 Pump Group to prevent pump misalignment and possible brake failure:
- 1. The 124-9377 Pump Group components must be completely removed from the truck before servicing. All disassembly and assembly of the 124-9377 Pump Group must be performed on a workbench to allow for proper assembly.
- 2. After servicing the 124-9377 Pump Group, bleeding of brake lines must be performed before start-up to prevent cavitation within the system.
- 3. After assembly of 124-9377 Pump Group, make sure shaft rotates freely before installing to truck.
