Transmission Oil Filter Failures Caterpillar

Transmission Oil Filter Failures

Usage:

416B (8SG) (8ZK);
426B (5YJ;
);
428B (7EJ);
436B (6MJ);
438B (3KK)

Problem:

The current 6E0924 Transmission Oil Filter can rupture around the top rolled seam of the filter causing oil to leak from the filter, resultant possible transmission malfunction and/or failure could occur.

Solution:

An improved transmission filter is now available which has got a higher capacity and greater rupture strength, this improved filter is also approx. 1/2" longer than the former 6E0924 Filter. The improved filter part number is: 119-4740.

Customers should be advised to use this improved 119-4740 Filter for the transmission on their respective BHL machines.

The 6E0924 Filter will not be cancelled or replaced in the parts system since this filter is used in other machine applications which do not exhibit the above problem,
