Bolts That Hold the 9D-2863 Adapters To The Hydraulic Tank May Not Be Correct Caterpillar

Bolts That Hold the 9D-2863 Adapters To The Hydraulic Tank May Not Be Correct

Usage:

OFF-HIGHWAY TRUCKS769C (01X6796-6830),
773B (63W4394-4440) TRUCKS;
771C (3BJ226-232),
775B (7XJ242-255) QUARRY TRUCKS

Problem:

The bolts (Item 7 in the illustration, part of the 8W-9971/5T2381 Hoist Oil Lines Group) that hold the 9D-2863 Adapters (Item 22) to the hydraulic tank may not be correct on some of the trucks listed above. Some trucks may have bolts that are too short. The correct 8T-8919 Bolts are 1.75 in long.

Solution:

During the Predelivery Inspection, or at first opportunity, remove the four bolts that hold the 9D-2863 Adapters to the tank. If the bolts are shorter than 1.75 in long, install four 8T-8919 Bolts.

NOTE: The parts books of the above referenced trucks do not show the 9D2863 Adapters and the 8T8919 Bolts because a different arrangement was used on the original production of the upgraded trucks. Please refer to the illustration on the reverse side of this TIB, or to the illustrations in the parts books covering the older models (prior to 01X6600/63W4200).
