Problem:

There have been reports of seal leakage in the 8R8529 Control Group Brake. The oil comes up from the failed seal on to the cab floor. It has been determined that the cause is the seal being damaged or twisted in the bore.

Solution:

The surface finish of the valve bore has been improved effective with the Supplier date of 13 July 93, and is seen as a date code on the valve serial number plate of 93-194 or higher number.

Seal kit 4E5550 has been released, and includes the bore with the improved surface finish, in the form of a replaceable sleeve.

Valve Group - Brake Control 4E5540 has been released.
