Features Changed In Challenger Technician (CT) 2.3 {5990,7620}

Usage:

Challenger 35 (8DN, 8RD, ADK),
Challenger 45 (1DR, ABF, 3BK),
Challenger 55 (7DM, 6NN, AEN) Agricultural Tractors

Reference: Special Instruction REHS0566, "Installation Procedure for Slip Limit Override Control".

Several changes have been made to the Challenger Technician (CT) software. The changes are effective with Version 2.3 (Challenger Technician 2.3 is packaged with Electronic Technician 3.0). You must use CT 2.3 or later whenever software equal to or later than the version numbers listed in Table 1 are installed in a machine.

* Changed the way P001 and P002 (Right/Left Draft Pin) are displayed. The values now display in units of 1000 lb force (K lb F), instead of percent. The value is converted to kN if the user has selected metric units.

NOTE: In CT preferences, the dash module preferences do not affect display in CT.

* Added Fuel Tank Capacity Configuration item. Choose between 85 or 125 gallons (320 or 470 liters). 125 gallons is the default value.
* Added Slip Override Configuration item. Choose between "Not Installed" and "Installed".
* A third choice was added for the EDC Hitch Type configuration item. If CT cannot establish contact with an EDC module, then a third choice, "None" is added along with "Position Only" and "Position/Draft".
* The Cold Start option was removed from the list of Configuration items because the air inlet heater is standard equipment.
* Certain configuration items can now be changed only if the engine is not running (RPM < 400). These items include: Creeper Installed, Three-Point Hitch, EDC Gain, Fuel Tank Capacity, and Slip Limit Override. On the configuration screen, these items can only be changed when a "?" is shown before the item's name.
* The display of P212 Cold Start Sense input was corrected. Previously, this parameter did not function.
* The Air Heater Inlet Relay was added to the set of outputs that can be turned on/off while the Set Outputs tool is active.
* The display of dates beyond 1999 when Taking/ Viewing snapshots has been changed. Dates are now shown using 4 digits instead of 2. A formatted date stamp is also used to determine whether any capture files were created "today", so that when you exit, CT can ask you whether to keep today's files or not.
* The password functionality was changed. In the past CT would set a default password that could be changed or disabled by editing the ct.ini file. Now, during installation, the password feature will be disabled until the ct.ini file is edited. If you are upgrading from a previous installation of CT, the password information already set will carry forward into version 2.3. See the online help for more information.
* The links to the help file (F1 key) for all the main tools in CT were corrected. Previously, pressing F1 in a given tool would bring up help for a different tool, help now displays the proper topic.
* Diagnostic code text support for F006 (Slip Limit Potentiometer Failed Low) and F007 (Slip Limit Potentiometer Failed High) was added.
