NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS5258" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

A noticeable transmission hydraulic noise can be detected on some Challenger 65C, 70C, 75C, 85C, 75D, and 85D Tractors at engine speeds between 1200 and 1600 RPM. This noise is there whether in forward, neutral, or reverse. The noise is directly affected by the transmission clutch pedal. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the noise distinctly goes away. Reliability and durability are not affected but the noise may be objectionable to operator.

- 1 - 1437841 Spool Assembly
Action Required
If there is a complaint of noise coming from an unstable transmission relief valve, remove the existing 7T8927 Spool Assembly from the 8E7037 Relief Valve. Replace it with a 143-7841 Spool Assembly. Refer to the service manual as necessary. This can be done from underside of tractor without removing the 8E7037 Side Pack. The side pack is located on upper right hand side of transmission case.
