Description of Change: A new air dryer group is used on the above machines. The new air dryer group is smaller and performs better than the former group. The new air dryer group is located inside the right rear fender. Access to the new air dryer group is through the door at the top of the right rear fender.

Installing an air dryer on a 966D Wheel Loader:

1. Helps eliminate brake system freezing and subsequent downtime.

2. Helps eliminate brake system corrosion and unnecessary downtime for repairs.

3. Helps eliminate brake system sludging.

Adaptable As: The new 9V6659 Air Dryer Group can be installed without modifications on 966D Wheel Loaders 99Y3023-Up, 816B Compactors 15Z383-Up, 814B Tractors 16Z264-Up and 815B Compactors 17Z464-Up. Machines earlier than those require modifications as shown in Illustrations 1 and 2.
